is proud to offer a free training opportunity on

Homelessness & Migrant Issues Best Practices

Dear State and Local Partners:

Homelessness and migrant-related displacement continue to create complex fire and life safety challenges nationwide—encampment fires, unsafe temporary shelter conditions, code compliance gaps, and increased risk to responders. To support states and local jurisdictions, we have developed a

Comprehensive Guide for Local Jurisdictions: Best Practices for Addressing Homelessness and Migrant Issues, made possible through FEMA’s FP&S grant program (Award EMW 2023-FP-00222). Details about registering for the free online class, comprehensive guide, and how to receive your completion certificate can be found below.

Bonus Opportunity:

NASFM is now expanding availability of the online training and offering opportunities for states to host in-person / train-the-trainer classes for fire service leaders, trainers, code officials, inspectors, homeless coordinators, and other state/local officials.

The New Hampshire State Fire Marshals Office is hosting this free in-person course on

Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at the New Hampshire Fire Academy, 98 Smoky Bear Blvd, Concord, NH 03301

The educational program will run from 8am to 2pm with a working lunch provided.
