About Howard Sparber, illustrator of Power Angels and Hurting Angels

Howard Sparber is a former syndicated columnist whose work has been featured in major newpapers and magazines and exhibited in both the Museum of Modern Art and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The syndicated cartoons created by Mr. Sparber include Timmy, Crax and Jax, Trix of the Trade, and The Byrd House. Mr. Sparber currently devotes his talents to graphic design, creating "Concept Cartoons" for corporate and institutional clients in the New York metropolitan area. An artist attuned to the psychological and social implications of issues, he specializes in presentations that feature original, appealing characters whose close-to-reality experiences focus attention on issues, influence attitudes and promote discussion of new, difficult or controversial subjects in non-threatening contexts. Among the subjects Mr. Sparber's cartoons have illustrated are the trauma of a child's first hospital stay, domestic violence, spouse abuse and changing corporate cultures and practices.
